We are proud to highlight the recent completion of a 321 kW solar electric installation at the Santa Rosa campus of Medtronic, a core holding of Harrington Investments and a global leader in medical technology.
The $1.2 million system will save Medtronic an estimated $1.8 million over 20 years.
Sonoma-based SolarCraft designed and installed the array, which will enable Medtronic to generate enough electricity each day to power more than 186 average homes and will spare nearly 250 tons of harmful greenhouse gases annually. Over the next 30 years, the air pollution saved will be equivalent to eliminating more than 16 million miles of driving or planting 50 acres of air-filtering trees.
This a great example of a smart management team making financially a prudent and environmentally responsible investment decision. Just the sort of thing we like to see from our portfolio companies.
